Arjun Namkeen & Sweets Centre

Out here on Baran Road in the Borkhera area, things are a bit different than the main city center. Arjun Namkeen & Sweets Centre sits right where the road starts to get busy with people heading in and out of the residential colonies. We have been here for a while and have seen many new houses go up around us. The shop stays quite warm because we have the big vats of oil going for the namkeen almost all day long. It can get a bit sweaty in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the shop directly. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that move the hot air around. Most of the people who stop by are from the neighborhood, just picking up a few things for their evening tea. We keep our sweets in the glass display at the front and the bags of namkeen are usually stacked up on the side. The counter is a bit worn down from years of coins and bags being slid across it, but it still does the job. We don’t go for anything flashy, just the usual snacks that people like to eat every day. Life moves at its own pace in Borkhera, and we are just happy to have our little spot on the road where we can see everyone passing by.
