Anand General Store

You can find Anand General Store over by the Old Sabji Mandi Chowk on Gumanpura Road. It is one of those places that has been part of the neighborhood for a long time. I wake up early to get things ready before the morning rush starts at the mandi. There is always a lot of activity around here with people buying their vegetables and then stopping by for their daily needs. We stock a bit of everything, the usual stuff you’d expect from a general store. It’s a small space, so things are stacked high on the shelves. Sometimes it takes me a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for, but I usually know where everything is. The chowk is always crowded and a bit chaotic, which is just the way Gumanpura Road is. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything. It is just about having the basics ready when people need them. I talk to the same neighbors every day, and we catch up on what’s happening in the area. It feels good to be a familiar face in the old market. Working here keeps me busy from morning until late at night. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. We are just a local shop trying to serve the people who live and shop near the old mandi. There is always something to do, whether it is restocking or cleaning the front step.
