Ajmera General Store

Kota is known for many things, but the Ghantaghar Bazaar is really the heart of the old city. Ajmera General Store has been standing here for quite a while now. The clock tower is right nearby, so we always hear the sounds of the market. It’s a very traditional area, and the 324001 zip code is always bustling with activity. Our shop is a small one, filled with all kinds of general items. You might find sewing kits, bangles, or just simple household plastic goods. The shelves are high and sometimes I have to use a small stool to reach the top. It is often very hot in Rajasthan, so we have a lot of fans running. The street outside is narrow, and you have to be careful of the scooters passing by. We don’t have a fancy website or a big team. It is just me and sometimes a family member helping out. We see a lot of students who come to Kota for their studies, stopping by for some basic things for their hostels. The mornings are usually spent checking what ran out the day before and writing down lists for the next order. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and counting change. We have been part of the Kota H O area for a long time, and we know the other shopkeepers around here well. It’s just a normal day-to-day business in a very busy bazaar.
