Agarwal Sweets Home

Our family runs Agarwal Sweets Home, and you can find us right on Chhawani Road in the Ramchandrapura area. It is a busy spot and we have been here for a long time. Every single morning, the milkman arrives early and that is when our work really begins. We spend a lot of our hours standing by those big iron kadhais, stirring mawa or boiling down the sugar syrup for the day's batches. The shop is never really quiet because there is always some noise from the kitchen or the traffic outside on Chhawani Road. Most of the people who walk in are locals from Ramchandrapura who just want a small box of sweets for their home or maybe some hot samosas in the afternoon. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky from all the syrup we use, but we try to keep it as clean as we can. My brother handles the money at the front while I stay in the back to make sure the cooking is going okay. We do not do anything fancy or modern here. We just stick to the traditional sweets that people have always liked. When festival season comes around, the whole place gets really chaotic and we barely have any time to eat or sleep. It is a lot of hard work, but we have known many of these customers since they were small children. It feels like we are just part of the neighborhood routine.
