Agarwal Marble

If you come down to Vigyan Nagar Road No 7 282, you’ll find us surrounded by stacks of stone. Agarwal Marble is a place where we spend a lot of time moving heavy slabs around and spraying them with water so people can see the real color underneath the dust. It’s a lot of physical work. The yard is big, but it always feels full because more stone keeps arriving from the quarries. We have to be careful with how we stack things so nothing cracks. Our boots are usually white from the marble dust that gets on everything. Sometimes people come in and spend an hour looking at different pieces, and we just stand there and wait or help them move a slab to see the one behind it. It’s not a fast process. Vigyan Nagar can get quite hot, so we try to do the heaviest lifting in the morning before it gets too bad. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning; it’s just the warehouse and the yard. We spend a lot of time checking the edges of the stone for any chips. If a delivery truck is late, we just find something else to organize. It’s a simple way of working. We know our inventory well because we’ve moved every single piece of it by hand or with the hoist. It is just us, the stone, and the daily work at Road No 7 until the sun goes down.
