Aapni Hadoti Foundation

Kota is known for a lot of things, but Indra Colony is just a regular place where people live and work. We are at E-11, right on Mala Road. The foundation has been part of this street for a while now. Aapni Hadoti Foundation is basically us sitting in a small office, trying to handle the community needs. We don't have a big staff. It's usually just a couple of us handling the phones and the walk-ins. The weather here in Kota can be pretty intense, so our office is a bit of a refuge from the sun. We have some old fans that keep the air moving. We do a lot of listening. People come in with all sorts of issues, and we try to point them in the right direction. It’s not corporate work. It’s messy and slow sometimes, but it’s real. We keep our records in cabinets that have seen better days. Our address at Mala Roadb- Iv is where we do everything, from planning to just catching up on local news. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a calendar and a list of things to do. It’s a local operation, run by people who live nearby. We know the shopkeepers and the families on this block. That’s just how we like to run things here. There is no need for anything fancy when you are just doing the work every day.
