Hind Manglam Band

You can find us right on the Main Road in Kaithooni Pole, Kota. We are very close to the Santoshi Mata Mandir. If you hear drums or trumpets being practiced, that is probably us. Our place is near the Police Thana too, so it’s easy to explain to anyone who is lost. This band has been around this part of Rajasthan for quite a while. It’s a loud business, literally. We have uniforms hanging on the racks and instruments everywhere you look. It’s not a quiet office by any means. There is always someone coming in to ask about dates or a musician dropping by to check their schedule. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit steep. We don't use any fancy computer systems to track everything, mostly just a diary and some notes on the wall. When wedding season comes, it gets very frantic and we hardly have time to sit down for tea. The guys in the band are local men who have been playing for years. We know the streets of Kota like the back of our hands. Sometimes the drums need tuning or a uniform gets a tear, and we just fix it and keep going. It’s hard work, especially walking for hours in processions, but it’s what we do. We aren't trying to be the biggest company, just a reliable band for the neighborhood. That is how we have always run things here on the main road.
