Vedanta Resources

Our office for Vedanta Resources is at B-234 in Sector-2, Balconagar. If you’re familiar with Korba, you’ll know this part of the township is mostly residential blocks mixed with a few office spaces like ours. It’s a practical location. We don’t have a massive lobby or a sign that lights up at night. We just have a regular door and some windows looking out onto the street. Inside, it’s all business. We have our desks set up in a way that lets us talk to each other while we work on resource projects. It’s a lot of data entry and checking schedules. We don’t use any complicated jargon or have big meetings about goals. We just look at what needs to be finished by the end of the day and we do it. The neighborhood is full of people who work in the local industry, so there’s a shared sense of just getting on with things. Sometimes the local monkeys come by and sit on the windowsills, which can be a bit of a distraction, but it’s just part of life here in Chhattisgarh. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer and there’s always a pot of tea on the go. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our life. We’re just a small part of the bigger picture in Balconagar, doing our daily tasks at B-234 and making sure the files are kept in order.
