Out here in Korba, things revolve around coal and power, and that is exactly where Spectrum Coal & Power Ltd. fits in. Our office is at Hig-29 in Sada Colony, which is a pretty well-known spot in Jamnipali. It is dusty, like most places around the plants, but we have gotten used to that over the years. We handle a lot of the logistical side and the everyday management stuff that keeps things moving in the energy sector. It’s a lot of sitting at the computer checking schedules and then running out to see how things are looking on the ground. The weather in Chhattisgarh can be brutal, especially when the sun is really beating down on the colony, so we try to get the outdoor work done as early as we can. We have a small group of people here who have been working together for a long time. We know each other’s families and who takes their tea with way too much sugar. We aren't a massive corporation with a skyscraper; we’re just in a regular building doing the work that keeps the lights on for people. It is a lot of spreadsheets, phone calls to the drivers, and making sure the paperwork for the district office is all filled out right. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every single week. We are usually here until the sun goes down and the shifts change.
