Punj Lloyd Ltd. is situated out in Village Nariyara, which is part of Tehsil Altra in the Janjgir Champa district. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here if you’re coming from the bigger cities. The roads around the village are mostly narrow and you have to watch out for the local cattle and tractors moving through. We’ve been operating from this site for a while. Being in Janjgir Champa means we deal with a lot of heat and dust, especially in the summer months. The village is quiet most of the time, except for the noise coming from our project site. We have a lot of space out here which is necessary for the kind of work we handle. It isn't a corporate office with air conditioning in every corner. It’s more of a field site where boots get muddy and clothes get stained. We mostly interact with the locals and the workers who stay nearby. People here know us by the large gates and the movement of heavy machinery. Life moves at a different pace in Nariyara. We don’t have fancy cafes or big markets nearby, so we usually just bring our own lunch or eat whatever is available at the small shops in the tehsil. It’s a practical location for the work we do. We just come in, do the job, and manage the site as well as we can given the conditions of the rural setting.
