Maheshwari Granites

Maheshwari Granites is located over at Plot 4, D-1, in the KIADB Industrial Area in Sommanhalli. It’s part of Maddur, so it is a bit of a drive if you’re coming from the bigger cities. The industrial area is full of different sheds and factories, and we’re just one of those spots. Being around stone and granite all day means there is always a bit of dust in the air and it can get quite loud with the cutting. We have a small team here. Most of us live nearby or commute from the local villages. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. The warehouse stays relatively cool though because of all the stone. It’s heavy work, moving those slabs around, so we spend most of the day on our feet. We don’t have a showroom with bright lights or anything fancy. Most of our stock is just stacked up in the yard or inside the main shed. People who come to see us usually know exactly what they are looking for in terms of size and the type of stone. We don’t do much talking; we just show them what we have in the yard and help them load it up if they have their own truck. It is a very hands-on kind of business. No one here wears a suit. We wear boots and clothes that we don't mind getting dusty. It is a simple life out here in the industrial zone.
