F.L.Smidth India Ltd.(Chennai)

Our branch of F.L.Smidth India Ltd. is based out of Korba in Chhattisgarh, far away from the main Chennai office. We are located right in the N.T.P.C Jamnipali area, which is very much an industrial hub. The office is actually in a residential quarter, Q.No.-B/1018, inside Kaveri-Vihar. It is a bit different working from a colony house, but it keeps us very close to the power plant operations. The weather here in Korba gets incredibly hot during the summer, so we spend a lot of time making sure the coolers are working. It is a quiet neighborhood for the most part, filled with people who work at the plant. We handle a lot of the local coordination and technical stuff from this desk. It is not a flashy setup with glass walls or modern art. It is just a practical space with desks, some old files, and a few computers. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the daily site requirements. Being in Kaveri-Vihar means we are part of the local community here. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet gets slow, but that is just part of living in this part of the country. We focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay on top of the schedule. It is a simple life for the staff here, just doing our part for the bigger company from our little quarter in Korba.
