Beacon English Medium Higher Secondary School

Our school is located in the Beacon Building, right on Street 2 in Korba. It is a higher secondary school, so we have kids of all ages running around from the little ones to the teenagers. The building has been there for a while, and it has that sturdy, old-school feel to it. Street 2 is usually quiet until the school bell rings, then it gets a bit chaotic with parents and rickshaws everywhere. We have the usual classrooms, a small area for assembly, and some offices where we handle all the paperwork. It’s a lot of work keeping a school running, between the maintenance and the schedules. We don't do those big fancy posters about our goals or anything like that; we just try to get the teaching done. The teachers are a mix of younger people and those who have been with us for decades. We have some trees around the building which helps keep things a bit cooler during the Korba summers. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise, and we have to get them oiled. It’s a very normal, local school experience. Most of our students live nearby, so we see the same faces in the neighborhood all the time. We just keep our heads down and focus on the daily routine of lessons and exams. It’s simple and it works for us. We just want to keep the building open and the kids learning.
