Our place is the Sanjeev Shree Building over in Basaweshwara Nagar. Bellary is the kind of town where everyone knows everyone, and we have been at Plot 155 for quite some time. It is a quiet enough street in the Gandhinagar area. We work on a mix of things here, mostly helping people figure out their building plans. Since there are just a few of us in the office, things stay pretty informal. We don't use a lot of fancy jargon; we just talk about what needs to happen to get a house built or an office set up. Sometimes the weather here gets incredibly hot, so we just keep the fans going and stay busy. We have watched the city grow and more people move into the outskirts. Our job is mainly about making sure the structural side of things is solid and the layout makes sense for a family or a business. We handle the paperwork and the drawings, and we spend a fair amount of time out on the sites checking on progress. It isn't always easy, and there are always little hiccups with materials or labor, but we manage to get through it. People stop by to ask questions or look at sketches, and we try to give them a straight answer. It is just honest work in a town we know well. We don't even have a big sign outside, just our name on the building, but folks find us just fine.
