Ethnic Fashions

Our place is located at 20a S. P. Mukherjee Street. It’s an old building, and you can definitely tell by the way the floorboards creak when you walk around. Ethnic Fashions has been in this neighborhood for quite a while now. The street is always loud and full of people, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. We have a front room where we keep a few items on display, but most of the activity happens in the back. It’s a bit cluttered with rolls of cloth and different tools we use for our work. We have a couple of sewing machines that have been with us since the start. They are loud, but they still work fine. The lighting isn't great, so we have some extra lamps clamped onto the tables. We don’t have a big marketing team or a fancy website. It’s just us doing what we’ve always done. Sometimes neighbors drop by just to chat for a few minutes. We keep a ledger on the main desk to track everything. It’s a simple system that works for us. When it rains, the roof leaks a little in the far corner, so we have to move the stock out of the way. It’s just one of those things you deal with when you’re in an old spot like this. We just keep going.
