At Swikriti Children And Psychiatric Clinic, we do things a bit differently because we handle both kids' health and mental health issues. We are located in Kompally, down the Kompally Lane right beside Bajaj Electronics in the Meenakshi Estate Colony. It’s a quiet enough area, which is good for the type of work we do here. Parents bring their children in for various reasons. Sometimes it's a physical illness like a cold, and other times they need help with behavioral things or their feelings. We try to keep the rooms feeling comfortable rather than clinical. It’s not a huge place, so it feels more like a house than a big hospital. We have some toys in the corner for the younger kids and some books too. The staff here is used to dealing with a lot of different emotions. We don't have a polished corporate handbook for how we talk to people. We just try to listen and help out families in the Meenakshi Estate Colony. Sometimes the waiting room gets full, but we do our best to see everyone in a timely way. Being right next to the electronics store makes it easy for people to find the turn-off. We think it’s important to have a place like this in the Kompally area so people don’t have to drive forever to get specialized help. We just take it one patient at a time and try to be useful to our neighbors.
