Gurpreet Galvanizing Pvt Ltd is out near Mukund Theatre on the Medchal Main Road. It’s a pretty busy stretch of road with a lot of lorries going back and forth. You can usually hear the sound of the theatre crowd when a big movie is playing. Inside our gates, it’s mostly just the sound of metal hitting metal. The air gets quite thick and warm because of the work we do. There are big vats and piles of steel pipe waiting in the yard. It’s not the cleanest place, but that’s the nature of this kind of business. The ground is mostly dirt and gravel, and we’re always moving things around with the crane. It gets very bright when the sun hits the metal sheets outside. We have a small office near the entrance where we sit when the heat gets too much. Usually, there’s a layer of grey dust on everything, including the chairs. We don’t spend much time inside though. Most of the day is spent out on the floor checking the pieces and talking to the workers. It’s a long day, starting before the sun is fully up and finishing when the road starts to quiet down a little. We've been at this spot for a while now, so the neighbors all know the sound of our machines. It’s just a regular industrial setup on the main road, and we deal with the noise and the grit every single day.
