Tarangini Garments

Our place, Tarangini Garments, is situated at Plot No. 90/A in the Apparel Export Park. It’s out in Gundla Pochampally, which is part of the R.R. District. Being in an export park means it’s mostly industrial around here, lots of trucks and warehouses and the sound of machines everywhere. We’ve got a decent-sized space where the sewing machines are always running. It can get pretty loud during the day when everyone is working, but you get used to the hum after a while. We focus on making clothes, mostly in bulk, so there are always stacks of fabric and patterns lying around on the big tables. It’s not the most glamorous work environment, but it’s where we spend most of our waking hours. The commute can be a bit of a trek for some of the staff, especially during the rainy season when the roads get muddy. We started small and just kept adding a few more machines as we went along. Sometimes the deadlines get tight and we stay late to finish up a batch, but that’s just how the garment business goes. We don't have a fancy showroom; we just have the factory floor and a small office space for the paperwork. Everything is about getting the pieces cut and stitched properly. It’s hard work on the eyes and the hands, but seeing the finished piles at the end of the day feels alright. We keep a small stove in the corner for making tea during breaks.
