West Point Sugar Trading

West Point Sugar Trading is over here in the Puthenvilla area of Thevally. We’ve been in Quilon for a while now, just doing the work that needs doing with the sugar bags every day. It gets pretty humid around the office, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building. Most days start early because that is when the trucks show up. We move things around, check the lists, and make sure everything is where it should be. It’s not a fancy setup. The walls could probably use some new paint, but it works for us. People know where to find us if they need sugar for their shops or whatever else they are running. Sometimes the traffic on the road gets a bit jammed up, making it hard for the loaders to get in and out quickly. We just deal with it as it comes. Usually, it’s just the sound of the fans humming and the guys talking while they move the heavy sacks. We keep a small desk for the paperwork which always seems to pile up no matter how much we try to stay on top of it. Quilon is a busy place, and being in Thevally keeps us right in the middle of things. We don't spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure the counts are right. It’s a simple life here at West Point.
