Travancore Medical College Hospital

Our hospital, Travancore Medical College Hospital, sits right on the N.H. Bypass Road in Umayanalloor. Being on the bypass means it stays pretty busy with traffic outside all day long. You can hear the trucks and cars going by if you stand near the main entrance. It is a large building, so you can’t really miss it when you are driving down that stretch of road. We have been here in Umayanalloor for some time now. The staff here are mostly local people who know the area well. It is a medical college hospital, so besides the doctors, you see plenty of students learning the ropes. It makes the place feel energetic, even when it’s late at night. The lobby is usually full of people sitting on the benches waiting for their turn or for news about their relatives. We don’t have any polished speeches about what we do. We just open the doors every morning and get to work. The hallways are long and there are plenty of rooms to keep track of. It takes a bit of time to learn your way around if you are new here. The bypass road makes it easy for people from further away to reach us without getting stuck in the smaller town streets. It is just a practical place for healthcare in this part of the state.
