Quilon Rental

Odanavattom isn't the biggest place, but we've been here for a good bit now. Our rental shop is pretty much known by everyone around the corner. We keep a lot of different things in the shed and the main room. It’s mostly stuff people need for a day or two and don’t want to buy themselves. Sometimes it’s tools, other times it’s equipment for a local event. The paperwork is mostly kept in a big ledger on the desk because computers sometimes act up when the power goes out. We spend a lot of time cleaning the gear after it comes back. People bring things back covered in dust or mud, so there’s always a rag in someone’s hand. The floor is concrete and has some cracks, but it holds up fine. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If someone calls asking for something we don't have, we usually try to tell them who else in town might have it. That’s just how it goes here. The morning sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so we keep the shutters halfway down until it cools off. It’s a simple setup, nothing special to look at, but it works for what we do. We try to keep the gear in working order so the next person doesn't have a hard time with it. The main door squeaks a bit when you open it, but we haven't bothered to oil it yet. It lets us know when someone is walking in.
