Poyanil Hospital

Poyanil Hospital is right here in Chemmanthoor, Punalur. We’ve been a part of this community for a long time. It’s not one of those massive city hospitals with twenty floors and elevators everywhere. We are more of a local landmark in Punalur. People know where we are because they’ve been coming here for generations. The building has some age to it, and you can tell we’ve been busy over the years by the way the floors look. We handle all sorts of things, from small scrapes to bigger health issues that people bring to us. The staff here are mostly local people who grew up in the area, so we all know each other. We don't have a big corporate board in another city making decisions for us. We just try to keep things running smoothly so the town has a place to go when they are feeling sick. Sometimes the hallways are a bit crowded and the fans are humming on the ceiling, but that’s just how it is here. It feels like home to a lot of us who work here. We know the families in Chemmanthoor and the surrounding parts of Punalur. We aren't trying to be fancy or modern. We just want to be reliable for our neighbors. When the rain comes down hard in the monsoon, people still find their way to our doors. It’s a tough job sometimes, but we’re glad to be the ones doing it here in our town for everyone.
