Ponnu Food Products

In the village of Ayilara, which is near Anchal in the Kollam district, we have our small production unit. We go by the name Ponnu Food Products. It is not a very big operation, just a modest building where we prepare various items. The air around here often smells like spices and fried things. We use the local ingredients we can get our hands on. Most of us who work here live just a few minutes away, so we walk to work every morning. The pace is steady but we don't rush things too much. We have a few simple machines to help with the packing, but a lot of the work is still done by hand. It feels more natural that way. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters for us. We just make the food and put it into packets. The floor is usually a bit messy by the end of the day, but we clean it up before we head home. People in Kollam seem to know us well enough. We sell to the little shops around the area and sometimes further out. It is just honest work that keeps us busy. We don't have big dreams of being a global company. We just want to make sure the stuff we produce is okay for the families who buy it. It is just us doing what we know how to do best in our little corner of Anchal.
