The shop is at 44D, Residency Road, right in the Andamukan area. It’s a very central spot, which means it’s always busy outside. We have been here for years, and the shop is packed from the floor to the ceiling with everything you can think of. If you need a specific kind of screw or a certain tool, we probably have it hidden away somewhere in one of the drawers. The front of the shop is usually crowded with items we’ve just received or things people are about to buy. It’s a bit of a squeeze to walk through the aisles sometimes. I’ve spent most of my life behind this counter. You get to know the regulars by their voices before they even walk in. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. The building is old, and the wooden shelves have a bit of a sag to them from all the weight they carry. We don’t try to sell people things they don’t need. Usually, someone comes in with a problem, and we help them find the tool to fix it. That’s how it works here. The afternoon sun hits the front windows, and it gets a bit warm, so we keep the door wide open. You can hear the buses and the horns from Residency Road all day long. It’s a lively place to be. We just keep doing what we’ve always done.
