Modern Engineering Works

We are located out in Chammandur, right along the Kollam Chenkotta Road. It is a busy stretch of road in the Kollam District. Modern Engineering Works has been here for a while now. The name sounds a bit more high-tech than we actually are in person. We are mostly a hands-on engineering shop. We have some lathes and milling machines that have seen a lot of use over the years. Our floor is usually covered in metal shavings. We spend most of our time fixing things that people bring in from the road. It could be a part for a truck or some farm equipment. We do not really have an office staff. If you need something, you just walk into the workshop and shout over the noise of the machines. One of us will eventually hear you. We like the work because it keeps our brains busy. Figuring out how to repair something that is broken is what we do best. The traffic outside never seems to stop, so there is always a layer of road dust on everything. We do not bother cleaning it too much because it just comes back. We are just a local shop doing local work. It is just us here in Chammandur, keeping the machines running. We do our best with what we have and usually, it turns out alright. The Kollam Chenkotta Road can be quite dusty during the dry season. We keep a bucket of water by the door to wash our hands before we leave.
