This office is the Madurai Kamaraj Distance Education Centre and we are located in Punalur. You can find us at a place called Tatvic. It’s a handy spot for people living around Kollam who don't want to travel all the way to a main campus just to ask a question or hand in some papers. We handle a lot of the back-and-forth stuff here. The pincode is 691305 if you’re sending us something in the mail. The office itself is pretty basic. We have some desks and a lot of files stacked up because there is always paperwork to deal with when it comes to distance learning. Sometimes it gets a bit slow when the computer system acts up but we usually manage to get things sorted for the students who come in. Most people who visit are working jobs and trying to finish their degrees at the same time so they are usually in a bit of a hurry. We try to keep things moving as best as we can. It’s not a fancy setup with receptionists in suits or anything. It’s just us here in Punalur trying to help people get their forms filled out and their exams scheduled. We’ve been at this Tatvic location for a while and the locals know the building pretty well. It’s a practical place for anyone around here looking to continue their education without moving away.
