Vaisakh Silks

Vaisakh Silks is a shop you can find in Mukkada Kundara. We deal with silks and other fabrics. It’s a local business through and through. The shop is usually filled with rolls of cloth and different colors. We spend a lot of time helping people who come in looking for something specific for an event or just for everyday wear. Kundara is a busy place, and Mukkada is a part of it where people are always moving around. We aren't a big chain store or anything like that. It’s just a regular shop where we know a lot of our customers by name because they live nearby. The work involves a lot of folding, measuring, and talking to people about what they need. Sometimes it gets really crowded, especially during the festival seasons, and we are all on our feet for hours. Other times, it’s quiet and we just tidy up the shelves. We’ve been in this spot for a while and we like being part of the local market. There is no air of importance here. We just show the fabrics, tell people the price, and help them out. The shop isn't perfectly modern, but it has everything we need to do our business. It feels like home to us. We just come in every morning, open the shutters, and see who the day brings into the store.
