It’s a quiet area compared to the big cities. We like it that way. The trees around here give good shade. Most of our work is local. We know the soil around Kollam pretty well. It’s different from other places. You have to account for the moisture. Our tools are kept in the back. It’s not a corporate setup with a receptionist. You just walk up and talk to whoever is there. We use simple English and talk plainly about what needs to be done. Sometimes the materials take a while to arrive because of the narrow roads. We’ve learned to be patient over the years. Building things is slow work if you want to do it right. We don't have a big sign out front, just the house address. People in Azheekal know where we are. We just focus on the job at hand and try to stay dry when the monsoon hits. It is just the way things go for us here in this corner of the state.
