You can find Dh Wood Craft at 13A, Main Road in Chinnakada. We’ve been doing this for a long time now, and the shop always has that heavy smell of sawdust and wood oil. It’s a smell you either love or you don’t, but we’re used to it. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights and mirrors. It’s mostly just stacks of different wood and the tools we use every single day. People stop by all the time just to see what we're working on or to ask if we can cut a specific piece for them. My brother and I run the place ourselves. We sometimes have disagreements about how to finish a particular edge, but we always figure it out in the end. The traffic outside on Main Road is usually pretty loud, so we tend to keep the front door shut when we're trying to concentrate. It’s a small space, and you really have to watch where you walk so you don't trip over the offcuts. We aren't trying to be some massive company. We just enjoy working with our hands and making things that last. By lunchtime, we’re usually covered in wood shavings and dust. It’s honest work and it keeps us out of trouble. We don't have a receptionist, so if you walk in and it's empty, just shout. We’re definitely in the back somewhere.
