We’ve got our office on Malayali Sabhe Lane, over in the Thevally area. It’s a quiet little lane, which is nice because the main roads can be a headache. B P S Impex has been at this address, number 1036, for a while. It’s an old building with a lot of character, or at least that’s what I tell myself when the light switches don’t work right away. We do a lot of import and export work. It involves a lot of sitting at desks and looking at screens. We’re a small group. We know each other’s families and what everyone likes for lunch. There’s a small shop nearby that makes great snacks, so we’re often over there. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture. The money goes into the business instead. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit since we opened. More houses and less trees now. But the lane stays pretty much the same. We don’t have a big mission statement on the wall. We just try to get the orders processed without any mistakes. It’s a lot of double-checking. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a big deadline, but usually, we’re out by six. It’s a steady way to make a living and we’re happy enough with how things are going here. Most of our neighbors are quiet people too, so it is a good place to work.
