We’re situated at 24/1 Shariff Lane in Kolkata, right across from the CPIM headquarters. It’s a busy little corner of the city. Being in the packing and moving business means our office is usually full of bubble wrap, cardboard boxes, and rolls of tape. It’s not a very clean or organized-looking place, but we know where everything is. Moving people’s houses is a lot of hard work. We spend our days lifting heavy furniture and trying to fit things into trucks like a game of Tetris. Our clothes usually have a bit of dust on them by lunch. The staff here are all pretty handy; we know how to take a bed frame apart and put it back together without losing the screws. Shariff Lane is always lively, and there’s always something going on outside our door. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. Most of the people who use us just walk in or call because they saw our trucks around. We’ve been doing this in Kolkata for a good while now. We’ve seen all sorts of houses and all sorts of narrow staircases that make our jobs difficult. It’s just about being careful with people’s stuff and getting through the day. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the best routes to avoid the city traffic. It’s just a normal, hardworking local business that gets the packing done.
