Wpil Ltd. operates out of Jeevan Neer Apartment in Dumdum. We are on the third floor, specifically flat 3A. It is a residential building, so it stays relatively quiet compared to the main road outside. Finding P-9/1 on Motijhil Avenue can be a little tricky if you aren't from around here, but once you find the gate, it's easy. D. Mondal handles things here. We have some desks pushed against the walls and a few chairs for when people come to visit. The lift in the building works most of the time, though sometimes we just take the stairs if we are in a hurry. Being in West Bengal, the humidity can be a bit much, but we manage. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of staff. It is just a small team trying to keep up with the daily load of work. We spend most of our time at our desks. The balcony gives us a little view of the neighborhood when we need a break from the screens. It's a lived-in space. There are files stacked on the shelves and cables running along the floor. It looks like a place where people actually spend their time working. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If the bell rings, one of us just gets up to see who it is. It’s a simple way to run things and it works for what we do. The apartment has its own sounds, like neighbors talking in the hall.
