Our place is located at 3 Garden Road in the Haltu area of Kolkata. Worthington Pump India Limited works with pumps, and it’s been our main thing for a long time. The office sits on a regular street, nothing too loud or flashy. We have a lot of technical drawings and pump specs lying around the desks. It’s the kind of place where you might get some grease on your hands if you go into the back area where we keep the samples. We aren't a corporate giant with glass walls and carpets. This is a functional workspace. Haltu is a decent neighborhood to be based in. A few engineers and some office staff handle all the orders. Mostly we deal with industrial pumps for different uses. People call us when they have a problem with their water systems or heavy machinery. We spend a lot of time looking at parts and making sure the numbers match up. It's been a steady job for most of us here. The building is a simple structure. We don’t spend much on decorating the place. We’d rather spend the time getting the pump orders right. Rain in Kolkata can be a bit much sometimes, but we stay dry in here. It’s a practical business. No mission statement hangs on the wall. We just have a list of things to do for the day. That’s how we like it. Someone usually brings in snacks for everyone in the late afternoon. It keeps us going.
