Our shop is tucked away at 272 Shailesh Nagar, over in the Digberia area of Madhyamgram. If you’re coming from the main road, it’s a bit of a walk through the neighborhood. We’ve got the printing machines running most of the time, and the smell of ink is something you just get used to after a week or so. It’s a small team here at Winners Labels LLP. Most of the staff live nearby, so we see each other outside of work too. The floor is usually covered with bits of paper and backing sheets that need to be swept up at the end of the day. We have these big rolls of material stacked against the back wall, almost touching the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. When the weather gets hot, the machines make the room even warmer, but we keep the fans going. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we like the pace. We handle all kinds of labels, mostly just sitting at the benches and making sure the alignment is right. Abdalpur is a decent place to be based, even if the roads get a bit messy during the monsoon. We just keep the rollers moving and get the orders ready for the couriers. It’s simple work, really, just making sure the sticky side works and the colors look okay before the rolls are packed into boxes and sent off.
