Way To The Light Welfare Trust

Our small office is located in Harinavi, which is under the Sonarpur police station area. Way To The Light Welfare Trust isn't a big, wealthy organization with a fancy boardroom. We are just a group of people from the community who wanted to do something useful. The building is a bit tucked away, and the paint is peeling in a few places, but it’s our home base. We spend a lot of our time sitting around an old wooden table talking to folks from the neighborhood who need a bit of help with various things. There’s usually a stack of paperwork on the desk and a teapot that’s always half-empty. It can be a bit chaotic when more than three people show up at once because the room is small. We don't have a lot of equipment, just some chairs and a filing cabinet that’s seen a lot of use. The local area of Sonarpur is quite busy, so there’s always noise from the street outside, but inside we just try to focus on the tasks at hand. We don't have any big corporate donors or anything like that; it’s mostly just local effort and some heart. Some days are slow and we just sit and plan, while other days everyone is rushing around trying to get things organized for a local event. It’s just how we operate.
