V.S. Forgings

You can find us on the first floor of the Aastha Building. We are right on Lipton Street in Ganga Bazar, which is always crowded and full of life. It took us a long time to get settled into this spot, but now it feels like the right place for V.S. Forgings. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, and we often have to tell people to watch their step. Downstairs is noisy with the market, but up here we try to keep things organized. We spend most of our time dealing with metal parts and orders that come in from different shops. It isn't a quiet job. There is always someone on the phone or looking at a drawing for a specific piece of hardware. Sometimes the fans don't work as well as they should when it's humid outside, but we manage. We aren't a huge factory with hundreds of people. It’s just us doing what we know how to do with steel and iron. We have some old filing cabinets that are overflowing, and the tea guy comes by twice a day. That is the rhythm of our work life. We've seen the neighborhood change over the years, shops closing and new ones opening, but we stay put. It's a busy life in Ganga Bazar, and we are just glad to be a part of the local trade here.
