Visa Steel Limited, Kolkata

We are located at 2/3/1 Tarapada Chatterjee Lane in Howrah, not too far from the Botanical Garden. If you know this part of West Bengal, you know the lanes can be very narrow and a bit crowded. Visa Steel Limited, Kolkata, operates from this address, even though we are on the Howrah side of the river. It is an old neighborhood with a lot of history. We do not have a modern office with elevators or a big parking lot. Instead, we work out of this traditional space where you can hear the street noise all day long. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the horns and people walking to the B.Garden, but we have gotten used to it over the years. It is just the way things are in this city. We spend our time managing the steel trade, talking to the transport guys, and filing all the papers. There is no corporate ladder here. We all just do what needs to be done to get through the day. The humidity in Howrah can be really tough in the summer, so we just keep the windows open and get on with our tasks. It is a humble setup, but it works for us. Being near the gardens and the river gives the place a different feel than the crowded streets in central Kolkata. We like it.
