Vikrant Forge Ltd.

We are over here in New Baruipara, which is a small part of the Halisahar post office area. If you know the 24 Parganas North district in West Bengal, you probably know it gets quite busy around the 743 134 pin code. Vikrant Forge Ltd. has been sitting here for a while now. Most days it is just the sound of the machines and people moving stuff around the yard. It is not a fancy place at all. The walls have some stains from the rain and the dust from the forge work settles on everything by noon. We spend a lot of time just keeping things running. The village life goes on right outside our gates. Sometimes the cows wander too close to the entrance and we have to shoo them away so the trucks can get in. It is hot work, especially in the summer months when the Bengal humidity really hits. We don't have a big reception area with air conditioning or anything like that. Just some desks, a few fans that squeak, and the smell of hot metal. People around here know us as the place down the road from the main village center. We just get on with the jobs we have to do. It is loud and greasy most of the time. We drink a lot of tea from the stall nearby. That is pretty much how it goes for us every day in Halisahar. We like it okay.
