We are located over in Vill Mamudpur, which is part of the South 24 Paraganas district. If you are looking for us, you have to head towards the P.O. at Charashyamdas. The police station is Bishnupur. Most of us here have lived in this part of West Bengal for a long time. It is a quiet spot most days, though things get busy around the market area when the sun goes down. The office itself is nothing fancy. We have some desks, a few chairs, and a lot of paperwork that seems to never end. There is a tree outside the main entrance where the local birds like to gather in the morning. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out or grab a tea from the stall down the road. It gets pretty humid here during the monsoon months, and the roads can get a bit muddy. People around here mostly know each other by name. We do not really bother with big signs or flashy lights. If you walk past the post office, you are basically there. It is just a regular place where we show up, do what needs to be done, and then head home to our families. Some of the guys have been working here since the building was first put up. It is just the way things are in Mamudpur. Nothing too fast, nothing too slow.
