Vedanta Alumina Limited

Flat 9 at 29/1 Bansdroni Park is where we do our thing. It is a regular apartment building in a busy part of Kolkata. We have been here for a good while now, just handling the alumina business as it comes. The office is not very big, but it fits our desks and the old filing cabinets we have had since the start. You can usually find a few of us here from morning until the sun goes down. The street outside is always full of rickshaws and people heading to the market. It gets quite noisy, but we are used to it by now. Sometimes the fan in the corner makes a clicking sound that drives us crazy, but nobody ever gets around to fixing it. We are just a group of people trying to keep the operations running smooth. There is no fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet you. If the door is open, you just walk in. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away on the computers. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that is usually when we take a break to talk about things other than work. It is a simple life here in Bansdroni. We know the neighbors and the local shops. We just focus on getting the daily tasks finished so we can go home. It is not some high-end corporate headquarters, just a place where work happens.
