V-Xpress

V-Xpress is tucked away at 4/A Uma Das Lane in Kolkata. If you know the area, you know how narrow those lanes can be, especially when it’s raining. Our office is right there in the middle of everything. It’s a 700013 zip code area, which stays busy from sunrise to sunset. We deal with a lot of courier and express delivery stuff every single day. The office is filled with the sound of packing tape and people shouting out addresses. It’s definitely not a quiet place to work. We have stacks of parcels waiting to go out and others just coming in. The floor is usually covered in some kind of cardboard scraps. We don’t really bother with fancy uniforms or corporate talk here. We just wear what’s comfortable and focus on getting the packages to where they need to go. Kolkata weather can be tough, especially the humidity, so we have a few old fans blowing all the time. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just wait it out. It’s a very local feel here. Everyone knows the tea seller at the corner of Uma Das Lane. We take our breaks there. It’s just how we operate. Nothing too complicated or professional-looking, just a bunch of us working hard in a small lane in Kolkata. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors don't mind the noise anymore. We just keep our heads down and work.
