We’ve been here at shop number sixty-eight on the ground floor for quite a while now. Netaji Subhas Road is always busy, so there is never a quiet moment outside our door. Sometimes the traffic makes it hard to hear ourselves talk, but that is just how things go in this part of town. The building at 71A is old but it stays cool enough in the summer if we keep the fans going. We have a lot of stuff packed into this space, mostly on the shelves that reach all the way to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a big delivery, and we usually end up moving boxes around for half the morning just to make a path. My son helps out when he isn't busy with other things, and we usually drink tea around four in the afternoon. People stop by mostly because they know where to find us. It’s not a fancy place by any means. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but nobody really looks at the walls anyway. We just keep the lights on and handle the paperwork as it comes in. Usually, it’s just the three of us here making sure everything stays in order. The street outside is full of people rushing, but inside we just try to get through the day's list without losing anything in the stacks. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here on the ground floor. We are right there at number sixty-eight, easy to spot from the main road if you're looking.
