You can find Utkarsh Tubes & Pipes Ltd. on the 5th floor of 23A, N.S. Road. Our office is in Room No. 22, and it’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes in these older buildings. The area around N.S. Road is always packed with people and vendors, so getting to the front door can be a bit of a shuffle. Inside our room, it is mostly stacks of papers and samples of different metal pipes. We spend a lot of time on the phone or working through the logistics of moving large orders across the country. It is a bit of a tight squeeze with the desks and the files, but we make it work. The light coming through the windows is okay, but the view is just other office blocks. We’ve been here for a while, so we know the other people on the floor pretty well. It’s a very traditional office setting with old wooden cabinets and a big ceiling fan that clicks. Dealing with tubes and pipes means we are always looking at sizes and specifications to make sure everything matches up for the buyers. It is not the most exciting work, but it is necessary. Sometimes the noise from the street carries all the way up to the 5th floor, especially during the busy morning hours. We just focus on our charts and keep the orders moving out to the various sites.
