We’ve been at 11/B Ganesh Sarkar Lane in Khidirpur for a while now. Moving stuff is hard work, mostly lifting heavy boxes and making sure everything fits in the truck. It gets sweaty and tiring, but that’s just how it goes. People come to us when they are moving houses or shifting their offices to a new place. We spend a lot of time wrapping things in bubble wrap and tape. Sometimes the tape gets stuck to our fingers, which is annoying. Khidirpur is a busy area, so getting the truck parked can be a bit of a headache. We know these streets well though. If you see us out on the lane, we’re probably loading up a van. It’s a lot of physical labor. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot. We deal with all sorts of furniture, some old, some brand new. We try to be careful with the corners of tables because those are easy to scratch. It’s just a small team of us here. We don’t have a fancy office or anything, just the space on Ganesh Sarkar Lane. We mostly just focus on getting the job done and moving on to the next house. Sometimes it rains and that makes things much slower. We just wait it out or cover everything with plastic sheets. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy every day of the week. We try to be honest about how long things take.
