Uccpl

We are tucked away at 18/4, Akrur Dutta Lane, which is right in the heart of Kolkata. If you have ever walked through these narrow lanes, you know how crowded and lively they can be. Uccpl has been based here for some time now. The building is one of those old ones with thick walls and high ceilings that you see all over this part of town. It is a bit of a maze to get here if you are not used to the shortcut streets near Wellington. We don't have much in the way of fancy decorations. Most of the space is taken up by desks, chairs, and stacks of documents that we need for our daily work. The light coming through the windows is sometimes blocked by the neighboring buildings because everything is so close together. We usually get our tea from the guy at the corner who serves it in clay cups. It’s a very traditional atmosphere, and we like it that way. The sounds of the street vendors and the distant honking of cars are just part of our background noise now. We don't really have a big sign out front, just the address. Most people who come here are locals or people who have known us for years. We just keep things moving, doing the same practical tasks every day. It is a bit cramped sometimes, but it’s our space and we are comfortable with the way things run around here.
