Ucci is located over at 17 A Avenue South in Santoshpur, Kolkata. The zip code is 700075. Santoshpur is a nice enough area, mostly residential with some shops scattered around. Our office is just a regular house that we’ve converted for our use. It has that typical Kolkata feel to it—a bit of moss on the walls from the monsoon and heavy wooden doors. We work out of the ground floor mostly. It’s easier for moving things in and out. The street outside isn't too wide, so when a truck comes by, everything has to stop for a minute. We spend our time managing the day-to-day operations of Ucci from here. It’s not a fancy setup. We have desks pushed against the walls and a lot of filing cabinets that are starting to get full. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for a while. We know the local shopkeepers and usually get our snacks from the market nearby. The afternoon sun hits the front of the building pretty hard, so we keep the curtains drawn to stay cool. It’s a quiet way to work, away from the main noise of the bigger city roads. We just focus on getting our tasks done and making sure everything is in order before we head home for the evening. It’s a practical, no-nonsense place that fits the way we like to do things.
