You can find us down in the Malappuram district of Kerala, specifically in a place called Pookottumpadam. Our office is at Punnakuzhiyil. It’s a very green area, which is a nice change if you are used to the dusty streets of a big city. The building we are in is quite old and simple. We have a few rooms where we do all our work. It can get very humid here, so the ceiling fans are almost always spinning at full speed. We start our day when the sun comes up to make the most of the cooler morning hours. Most of us live in the nearby villages, so we know everyone around here. There is no corporate ladder to climb in this office; we all just do what needs to be done. Sometimes the internet goes down when there is a heavy rain, and we just have to wait it out. We don't have any flashy brochures or a website that looks professional. Our work comes from people in the area who know what we do. There is a small porch where we sit sometimes to take a break and watch the rain. It’s a very slow-paced way of working, but it suits the local culture. We keep our records in big ledgers and spend a lot of time on the phone. It’s a very traditional way of running things, and we aren't planning on changing it anytime soon. We’ve been here for many years.
