You’ll find Tuobro Furguson (India) Ltd. over on Rajmohon Road in Uttarpara. It’s part of the Hooghly district in West Bengal, which is an area with a lot of history and old buildings. Our place is at number 22, and it’s a typical local office for this part of the country. The building has high ceilings and those big windows that let in the breeze when it isn't too humid outside. We spend our time managing the India operations from here, which mostly involves a lot of back-and-forth with our distributors and checking on the manufacturing details. It’s not a high-speed environment where everyone is stressed out. We take things at a sensible pace and make sure the details are right. The street outside can be a bit chaotic with rickshaws and people heading to the post office, but inside we keep it fairly organized. We have stacks of files that probably need sorting, and the tea man comes by twice a day which is the highlight for most of us. We aren't a new startup trying to change the world; we’ve been around and we know our business well. It’s about being reliable and showing up every morning to do the work that needs doing. We like being in Uttarpara because it feels like a real community where people actually know their neighbors.
