Our office is tucked away on the 5th floor of the building at P-4, New Cit Road in Kolkata. Being up on the fifth floor gives us a bit of a view, but mostly we are just looking at the stacks of files on our desks. Kolkata is a crowded city, and getting trucks in and out of this area takes a lot of planning. We spend our hours talking on the phone and trying to track where everything is located. The building is older, and the lift can be a bit temperamental sometimes, but we make it work. It’s a busy atmosphere with people coming in and out all day long. We don't have any fancy decorations; it's mostly just maps on the walls and plenty of chairs for when the drivers come in to sign their papers. Dealing with the West Bengal logistics can be tricky because of the narrow streets and the humidity. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure the cargo moves along. It's a regular transport office where the coffee is usually cold by the time you get to drink it. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the office space. We just want to make sure the logistics side of things stays on track. It is a lot of hard work and sometimes it gets stressful, but that is the life of a transport worker here in 700073.
