We are based at 15 Sudhir Chatterjee Street in Kolkata. This part of the city is always moving, and our office is right in the middle of that energy. The street is narrow and you have to be careful when you’re walking because there is always a rickshaw or a bike passing by. Inside, it is a bit quieter but you can still hear the city outside the window. We have a lot of old ledgers and papers because that’s just how we operate. It is a very traditional setup. No one here wears a tie unless there is a very big reason for it. We mostly just wear our regular clothes and get on with the business of the day. The building itself has character, with those high ceilings you find in old Kolkata houses. We’ve got a small area where we eat our lunch together and talk about whatever is on the radio. It isn't a high-tech hub by any means. We use what we have and we do a decent job of it. The mail arrives at the same time every day and that’s usually when things get the busiest. We like the grit of the city and the way people just get on with things. It is a simple life here at number 15, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
